Nandrolone: The Basics
Often also known by its more popular brand name of Durabolin, Nandrolone has undergone a fairly unique change to its chemical structure to become the item it is known as. Namely, the removal of a carbon atom from the 19th position of its structure.
This makes it something known as a 19-nor testosterone agent and gives it a boost in anabolic potency, while also blunting its androgenic affinity. It also acts to greatly reduce its affinity for partial conversion to estrogen, standing at only about 20% that of regular testosterone. This makes it more efficient and tolerable when compared to other anabolics, which likely explains why it’s commonly used in tandem with other products in a given regime.
Many, who hear the word Durabolin, often expect to hear the word “Deca” before it. This is because Deca Durabolin, or Nandrolone Decanoate, is a very popular form of Nandrolone that is commonly taken and was brought to fame due to its use by some of the bodybuilders in the golden era of bodybuilding.
However, it is important not to confuse Deca with the form being discussed here. Durabolin is a far faster form of Nandrolone, with a half-life of approximately 2 to 3 days.
Meanwhile, Deca Durabolin has a half-life of 14 to 16 days. This means that the former would need to be injected once every day or second day for maximal levels to remain in the body, whereas the latter only weekly. The levels of the former are much easier to control as a result, and may provide quicker results.
Common amounts of Durabolin fake would be between 50 and 150 milligrams, taken every day to second day for male users. Despite recommendations to stay away from it, due to potential virilizing effects, some females still take 50 milligrams amounts every 3 days.
This use would persist in a program lasting around 12 to 24 weeks.
Common potential adverse effects include:
Increased risk of cardiac arrest or stroke, due to enlarged heart size, increased arterial stiffness and higher unhealthy LDL cholesterol levels, all elicited by the drugs use. A chance of androgenic side effects, however low, including skin issues like acne and oily skin, accelerated balding in people predisposed to it, and virilizing effects in women. A chance of estrogenic side effects, again however low, like development of gynecomastia, fluid and fat retention, and a rise in blood pressure. The reduction in natural testosterone production, in greater magnitude than other anabolics too, which would persist even after cessation of use, meaning both exogenous testosterone and a Post Cycle Therapy program would be necessary to prevent deficiencies in the hormone and associated problems.
